The Canadian Gemmological Association Diamond Award 

This annual award has been created to bring attention to those who have made significant contributions through influence and support to Canadian Gemmology

These contributions and influence can be made through: Business

  • Gemmological Education
    Gemmological Research 
  • Exploration and Mining of Canadian Gemstones 
  • Development of instruments 
  • Practical applications such as lapidary and diamond cutting 

  • Recipients Must:
    Be in good standing with the CGA, GEM-A. Not be a current officer on the CGA Board.

    How to nominate:
    Fill out the nomination form on the CGA website
  • Nomination form-Diamond Award

    o April 30th - Nomination Deadline
    o July - Recipient Voted on by CGA members

    Recipient will be selected by a majority vote of CGA members o October – Recipient Awarded at Annual CGA conference

    The winner will receive a $2000 CND cheque from the CGA
    Their name added to a permanent plaque listing all recipients at the CGA Toronto Office and on the CGA website.

Classes may be cancelled if attendance requirements are not met.  A full refund will be issued to participants if a class is cancelled.
Cost - $250.00 (plus HST = $282.50) - Limited seating
Hours are 9:30am to 4:30pm

    Master Valuer 3 day Workshop   New

    This course is open to to Distance Education students of the Master Valuer program. In order to complete your course you must complete a hands on practical component.  In 3 days you will get experience in preparing the documents needed for completing an appraisal and have the chance to discuss with a qualified intructor different methods of approaching appraisals. Creating documents for jewellery in class is a major part of the class.
    Cost: $1850
